India is one of the most beautiful countries attracting several tourists to visit India with its exquisite cuisine, culture, historical monuments, and festivals. To enter India any traveller would need to procure an Indian visa which is quite long bureaucratic and tiring work. To solve this problem, the Indian government has launched the scheme E-visa which can be applied by more than 160 countries including Australia.
Time allowed to stay in India depending on your E-visa type
- Tourist E-visa: 90 days
- Business E-visa: 180 days
- Medical E-visa: 60 days
Cost of an Indian E-visa
The cost of the Indian E-visa is between $84 to $128 which is non-extensible, cancellable, transferable, or amendable, as it is not dependent on whether your application for an E-visa is approved or rejected. However, if you want you can reapply for it.
- E-Tourist visa: This type of visa allows its holder to stay in India and spend their time travelling and leisurely. The cost for a 30-day E-tourist visa is $84 whereas a 1-year E-Tourist visa costs $96.
- E-Business visa: This type of visa allows its holder to stay in India and perform legal transactions, hire staff, etc, without any issues, This type of visa allows its holder to stay for 180 days and costs $128.
- E-Medical visa: This type of visa allows its holders to come to India for any kind of medical issue be it a treatment or a medical emergency and is allowed to bring only two medical attendants with them for 60 days and costs $128
A traveller should note that India has issued only these three types of E-visas and has not launched E-visas for students, entry permits, work permits, etc. If you are interested in acquiring these types of visas then you have to apply for a general visa.
Indian E-visas are accepted only through travel via air and sea and, only in 25 International airports and 5 Seaports, whereas you can exit India from any of the embassy-authorized Indian airports.
